Another apology from Rajini?

We thought that controversy had stopped following Rajinikanth after a fairly trouble free and well accepted speech at the Nadigar Sangam fast. However, it seems to have caught up with Superstar again in the most unlikely and unexpected form. A few Hindu groups are contemplating a protest against what Rajini said during his meeting with his fans in Coimbatore.

At the meeting venue, there had been a banner hanging behind Rajini with the Tamil sentence 'Kadamayai sei, palanai ethirpaar' which translates into 'do your work and expect the results'. This is a direct contradiction to what is said in the Bhagavath Gita with respect to work and results.

The Gita says 'Kadamyai sei, palanai ethirpaarathe' which means 'do your work, don't expect the results' which is meant to encourage selfless efforts. At the meeting, Rajini is also believed to have indirectly hinted that he doesn't agree with this point in the Gita. Now, this seems to have irked some people who have presumably taken this as an insult to the religious text. Reports are that the groups plan to take out protests against Rajini and demand an apology from him.
